I’d have liked to have had a feature to disable the dock while uBar is running. So, let’s look at how to customize your Mac desktop in seven easy steps. Yep, the dock is still running while you have uBar enabled, its just hidden which I think is a bit weird. Give it access and change the position of the Dock. When you run it for the first time it will ask you to do some setup. Quite annoying and I’m glad uBar has this feature. You can even get quick access to the desktop which with the normal dock is a nightmare, you have to minimise all the windows before you get to it. To enable this service, check it via System Preferences>Keyboard>Shortcuts>Services. To add any file, folder, or application, you can control or right-click it in the Finder and select Services and then Add to uBar Favorites. It uses the dark theme that is set in the system preferences but this can be changed by right clicking on the task-bar and heading to the preferences for uBar. To an open application to the Favorites Area, control or right-click it and select Add to Favorites. Then again, the same could be said for people who are used to Mac’s that are going to Windows, they can use a third party dock.Ībove is what uBar looks like without changing any settings.
I’d like to think that the main reason would be people who are migrating to a Mac and have gotten used to the good old Windows Taskbar.
